Dylan Naidoo Sets Sights on Season-Ending Glory at AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open

Dylan Naidoo arrives in Mauritius with the swagger of a man who’s already rewritten his own script, and he’s itching to sign off his breakout season in style at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open this December. For Naidoo, the year began with history at home — and now he’s hunting one more trophy to cap it off.

The South African has confirmed he will tee it up at La Réserve Golf Links from 18–21 December, the Sunshine Tour and DP World Tour co-sanctioned event that helped propel him toward the DP World Tour card he locked down this past season. It’s a return trip loaded with good memories and unfinished business.

Last year, Naidoo came within touching distance of the title, finishing tied second before launching himself into a career-defining run. Less than three months after that close call, he carried the confidence straight into his national Open and won his maiden DP World Tour title — the kind of homecoming every young pro dreams of but few actually deliver. By the season’s end, he’d climbed to 56th on the Race to Dubai Rankings, cementing his place among the game’s rising threats.

Naidoo hasn’t forgotten how much Mauritius fuelled that surge. “I’m really looking forward to coming back to the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at La Réserve Golf Links. Last year I came second in this tournament and I’d really love to go one better. I love coming to Mauritius. It’s one of my favourite places – the beaches, the culture, the food. It’s such a great way to end off the year. I’m really looking forward to it,” said Naidoo.

He’s not the only one with momentum. La Réserve Golf Links is quickly turning heads far beyond the Indian Ocean. The course was crowned Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course at the World Golf Awards in November, while Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Wellness Resort scooped World’s Best Golf Hotel — a double win that tells you everything about the pedigree of this year’s host venue.

The stage, in short, couldn’t be better set. A rising star in Dylan Naidoo, a course moving up the global rankings at speed, and a tournament supported by a heavyweight roster of partners: AfrAsia Bank, Heritage Resorts, ER Group, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, Heritage Villas Valriche, Mont Choisy Group, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), Range Rover, Emtel, Poncini, Mauritius Golf Federation, Phoenix Beverages, ticketbox.mu, DStv, C-Care, Mautourco, Ernie Els Wines, CBE, Miko Coffee, MobiMEA and Mastercard.

Naidoo’s breakthrough year isn’t done yet — not if he has anything to say about it. And judging by his recent form, Mauritius might just get the encore it’s been waiting for.
