At the Aramco China Team Championship, Team Rhodes stormed through the field with a clinical 39-under-par finish at Mission Hills Golf Club, Shenzhen—four clear of their nearest rivals. In a performance that combined precision, poise, and power, the quartet delivered a masterclass in team golf to cap off the 2025 PIF Global Series.
Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab was the catalyst, firing an electric eight-under-par 68 that not only handed her the overnight lead in the individual standings but also anchored Team Rhodes’ charge to the top. Her mix of laser accuracy and fearless shot-making was the heartbeat of the team’s commanding win.
Dominance from a United Front
Led by captain Mimi Rhodes, the side featuring Cheenglab, fellow Thai Kultida Pramphun, and Czech talent Kristyna Napoleaova barely put a foot wrong. Pramphun finished the day tied for fourth at nine-under, just three shots adrift of her teammate, while Napoleaova’s steady play kept the team momentum rolling.
Trailing behind, Team Alexander closed at 35-under-par and Team Liu at 34-under—but neither could match the relentless rhythm of Rhodes’ side.
The Aramco China Team Championship, the fifth and final stop of the PIF Global Series on the Ladies European Tour (LET), marked another milestone in Golf Saudi’s push to elevate women’s sport globally. With a total purse among the richest in the women’s game—$500,000 for the team champions and $1.5 million in individual prizes—the event continues to redefine the professional landscape.
Captain Rhodes: “We’ll Definitely Be Celebrating This One”
For Rhodes, who has already lifted three individual titles this season across Australia, South Africa, and the Netherlands, this was her first team triumph of 2025—and it clearly meant something special.
“We’re absolutely ecstatic!” she said. “We all played really well today. I think I speak for everyone when I say we weren’t too focused on our individual scores – we were all watching the team leaderboard. The birdies just started dropping naturally… and even a couple of eagles!
We’ll definitely be celebrating this one properly! Golf is such an individual sport, so having a team element brings everyone together. It’s fun, and it takes some pressure off the individual side. We really enjoy it.”
Cheenglab Finds Her Form and Fires a Warning Shot
Cheenglab, already a proven winner on the LET after her 2023 title in the Netherlands, enters the final round of the Aramco China Team Championship with momentum to spare. Her eight-under included two eagles, showing a golfer fully dialled in.
“I was just trying to make as many birdies as I could,” she said. “The eagles were a bonus. I’m really happy with how I played, and I just kept trying to go low. It was a great day for all of us.
Yes, this is my second time playing in an Aramco event. Last year, I missed the cut, so I’m really happy with how things went this time. It feels great to be back.”
Her return to form couldn’t have been timed better. With China’s Ruoning Yin—a major champion—and compatriot Ruixin Liu both sitting just one stroke back at 11-under, the individual title race is far from settled.
Setting the Stage for a Grand Finale
American Alison Lee lurks two strokes behind, tied for fourth with two others, ensuring the final round promises fireworks. Meanwhile, Morocco’s Maha Haddioui continues to blaze her own trail, making the cut at two-under and reinforcing her legacy as the first Moroccan golfer to play full-time on the LET.
As dawn breaks on the final day, the Aramco China Team Championship will tee off at 7:30 a.m. local time at Mission Hills. Every putt, every birdie, and every roar from the gallery will count.
