Big Break is back on Golf Channel in 2026, and the comeback has a modern twist: a full-throttle collaboration with digital phenoms Good Good Golf.
The new season—Big Break x Good Good—lands in August 2026 at the AAA Four-Diamond Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, where the Hill Country scenery looks tailor-made for glory or embarrassment, sometimes in the same swing.
Canyon-carved drama, YouTube-era energy, and a format that’s launched real tour careers—Big Break hasn’t forgotten what made it bingeable in the first place. It’s simply strapped on a turbo.
The relaunch, straight down the middle
The 24th season puts contestants through the familiar test of nerves and shotmaking from tee to green, with signature challenges—the “Glass Break” and “Flop Wall”—making their triumphant return.
The stakes are properly serious: the winner earns an exemption into the PGA TOUR’s Good Good Championship in November 2026.
“It’s a distinct honor to be selected as the golf resort that will host the relaunch of the storied Big Break television franchise and to partner again with the talented teams from Golf Channel and Good Good Golf,” said Randy Zupanski, Horseshoe Bay Resort’s managing director.
“We’re overjoyed that viewers will get to know Horseshoe Bay Resort intimately as the scenic location for all the thrilling golf competitions in each episode of Big Break x Good Good.”
Since debuting in 2003, Big Break has handed out golden tickets across the professional landscape—PGA TOUR, LPGA Tour, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and PGA TOUR Champions—proving it’s more than made-for-TV bravado.
Hosts, captains, and a fan army
Big Break Dominican Republic champion, former LPGA pro, and Golf Channel personality Blair O’Neal returns to host, with Good Good’s Matt Scharff co-hosting. Twelve competitors will battle through the gauntlet, including Good Good’s Brad Dalke and Sean Walsh.
Garrett Clark and Bubbie Broders step in as non-playing team captains—think banter, brain-picking, and the occasional pep talk that sounds suspiciously like a dare.
“Bringing back Big Break in partnership with Good Good Golf is as good as it gets,” said Tom Knapp, EVP and General Manager, Golf Channel. “Big Break is a Golf Channel institution which defined golf reality entertainment for 23 seasons.
Good Good Golf is creating today’s version of golf entertainment and has redefined what ‘reality’ content really is. These two golf content brands will be a very powerful combination.”
Good Good’s audience—more than 4 million YouTube subscribers across channels since 2020—won’t need a map to find the fairway.
The stage: Horseshoe Bay Resort
Pressed against the constant-level Lake LBJ and a short skip from Austin, Horseshoe Bay is no anonymous backdrop. Four championship courses and the Whitewater Putting Course form a playground designed (in part) by World Golf Hall of Famers Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jack Nicklaus.
Before there was a Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, there was Horseshoe Bay’s original trio:
- Slick Rock (1971), a classic parkland set-up and home to the “Million-Dollar Hole,” No. 14—yes, the one with the waterfall-lined bridge from tee to fairway.
- Ram Rock (1981), the Texas tough guy with a reputation to match.
- Apple Rock, a head-on collision of elevation, water, and views over Lake LBJ—fresh off hosting the Good Good Lonestar Shootout, a live 12-holer with gridiron names like Matt Ryan, Joe Haden, Matt Leinart, Patrick Peterson, Jamaal Charles, and Golden Tate.
“We couldn’t think of a more exciting production to bring to Horseshoe Bay Resort and to show off the extraordinary Texas Hill Country beauty of our award-winning golf courses,” said Horseshoe Bay Resort’s Director of Golf Operations Anthony Holder.
“Good Good Golf and Golf Channel are poised to break new ground and bridge generations of golf lovers with their unique brand of entertainment. We can’t wait for the world to see what this season of Big Break x Good Good has in store.”
A factory for cult heroes—and bona fide winners
Big Break has always been more than trick shots and talk. The alumni list reads like a roll call of tour winners and fan favourites: Tony Finau, George & Wesley Bryan, Ryann O’Toole, Matt Every, Richy Werenski, Kristy McPherson, Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey, Gerina Mendoza, Kip Henley, and Don Donatello—along with this season’s host, Blair O’Neal.
“Big Break has always held a special place in the world of golf entertainment, and being part of its return alongside Golf Channel and the awesome vision of executive producers Chris Graham and Kevin Schultz is an incredible milestone for us,” said Matt Kendrick, CEO, Good Good Golf. “This collaboration reflects the evolution of golf culture and highlights just how much the game — and Good Good — have progressed.”
How to watch, and how to get in
Applications to compete on Big Break x Good Good are coming soon—details will be announced in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, fans can binge past seasons on GolfPass, golf’s all-in-one digital membership (developed with Rory McIlroy) that combines streaming lessons, tee-time perks, and a fat library of original shows—including Big Break.
If you want a preview of the turf and the teeth, Horseshoe Bay’s story—and that “Million-Dollar Hole”—speaks for itself.
And if you’re wondering whether Big Break can still mint stars in 2026, history suggests it’s not just possible—it’s probable. The game moves on; great pressure never goes out of style.
