Grant Forrest has claimed the Nexo Championship, hauling in his second DP World Tour title in emphatic fashion.
At Trump International Golf Links, the 32-year-old Scot sank a level-par final round of 72 amid punishing conditions to finish on eight-under-par—his first win since the 2021 Hero Open at Fairmont St Andrews, exactly four years and two days ago.
Forrest’s triumph at the Nexo Championship catapults him to 28th in the Race to Dubai Rankings and puts him at the top of the Closing Swing standings, with just one more tournament—next week’s Danish Golf Championship—to go.
The win also delivered a $10,000 “Course Record Presented by Nexo” bonus for his sizzling 66 on Friday, plus an extra $50,000 in NEXO Tokens in a unique twist just for this event.
Coming into Sunday with a three-shot lead, Forrest had to stay composed. After Todd Clements chipped one under on the first, the gap narrowed to two.
A sloppy tee shot on the par-three third could’ve cost him dearly, but he escaped without dropping a shot.
By the fourth, however, he had stretched his lead to five—just narrowly missing an eagle that would’ve marched him to nine under, while Clements suffered a triple bogey.
That opened the door to Kristoffer Reitan, lurking at four under. But Forrest slammed it shut with birdies at the seventh—reaching double figures—and again at the tenth.
His steadiness paid off as he signed off with a 72, ending the Nexo Championship four strokes clear of runner-up Joe Dean, who managed a closing 71. Only nine players finished in the red.
Dean, with three birdies and two bogeys, ended at four under, while Denmark’s Jacob Skov Olesen, Norway’s Reitan, and England’s John Parry sat one shot back in third. England’s Jordan Smith claimed sixth at two under; Finland’s Oliver Lindell, alongside Clements and Andy Sullivan from England, tied for seventh at one under.
Winner’s Comments
Grant Forrest: “It’s amazing, I’m just speechless. I think it is the same week as I won four years ago on the calendar so just amazing, that must say something about this week and being at home.
It was a tough day out there today, didn’t play my best stuff at all but made a lot of good par saves on the front nine.
Obviously, I was pretty nervous coming down the last there – there was no chance that tee shot was going right with the red stakes.
I just can’t believe it. It’s been such a tough year on the golf course. It’s just a crazy game that you can go and come out and do this, with what feels out of nowhere.
It certainly has (turned his season around). I was way down the rankings a couple of months ago, tried to play a bit better but at this stage of the season, I was right on the bubble. It’s just that old chestnut that one week can turn things around and it has.
I had no idea what the scoring was like out there. I didn’t see a scoreboard until the one behind 13 and 17. I was at ten under and saw someone was at five under.
I made great saves at 16 and 17 and obviously saw the scoreboard ahead of the 18th tee and knew I had a few to play with and tried to use a few of them.
It’s fantastic to have won the Nexo course record prize too and it’s a great new initiative on the DP World Tour.”
