The Aramco Houston Championship is officially coming to Texas, and Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland is set to roll out the red carpet—and the lightning-fast greens—from September 5-7. For those of you who think Houston is only about oil rigs, BBQ, and humidity thick enough to drown in, you can now add elite women’s golf to that list.
This penultimate stop on the PIF Global Series isn’t just another tick on the schedule. For Golf Saudi, it’s a calculated swing at the heart of one of America’s most diverse golf communities, and a perfect excuse to prove that the sport’s global future has Lone Star written all over it.
A Stage Worthy of the Spotlight

Golfcrest, one of Houston’s most respected private clubs, is no stranger to championship golf. The course offers a fair yet ferocious test with slick greens, mature fairways, and water hazards that are as unforgiving as Texas traffic.
“Hosting the Aramco Houston Championship is a landmark moment for Golfcrest Country Club,” said Rene Rangel, General Manager. “Our course was built to challenge elite players, and we’re excited to see it take centre stage on the international calendar.
Being part of the PIF Global Series on the Ladies European Tour places Golfcrest among a select group of world-class venues, and we look forward to delivering a championship experience worthy of that distinction.”
Translation? Golfcrest is ready to show off, and it’s got the grass to back it up.
Global Ambitions, Texas Roots
The Aramco Houston Championship is part of the PIF Global Series, an initiative backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund that’s determined to accelerate the women’s game worldwide.
The series has already planted its flag in Saudi Arabia, Korea, and England. Now it’s Houston’s turn, with the last U.S. visit being the Aramco Team Series in Tampa.
“Aramco has a long-standing relationship with the city of Houston, and we are excited to bring the Aramco Houston Championship to our home in the US,” said Rania Biltagi, Aramco Global Head of Partnerships. “From cutting edge R&D facilities, innovative research partnerships, and impactful community initiatives, we have been active partners in Houston and the US for over 50 years. We are therefore proud to extend this spirit of collaboration to support the growth of women’s golf and inspire the next generation of women golfers.”
Golf Saudi, the driving force behind the event, has made no secret of its mission: take the game to new audiences, elevate women’s golf, and—while they’re at it—remind the world that Saudi Arabia has bigger plans for the sport than just building fairways in the desert.
Star Power in the Lone Star State
The field isn’t just world-class—it’s star-studded. Expect to see world No. 18 Céline Boutier, the long-hitting Anne Van Dam, Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, and local favourite Danielle Kang. If Golfcrest’s greens are as fiery as a Houston summer, the leaderboard could be hotter than a brisket smoker on game day.
More Than Golf
The week will also include the FII Institute’s “Elevated Green” discussion panels, where C-suite leaders and big-thinkers will pontificate about innovation, sustainability, and, presumably, how to hit a 7-iron into a 20-mph headwind.
For fans, tickets start at just $15 on Friday, $20 for the weekend rounds, or $50 for a full pass to witness three days of world-class golf in Pearland. Tickets available here.
Looking Ahead
When the Aramco Houston Championship tees off, it won’t just be another tournament—it’ll be a statement. Women’s golf is growing, the PIF Global Series is pushing boundaries, and Houston, with its deep sporting roots and booming golf scene, is the perfect stage.
Now the only question is: will the Texas heat or the Golfcrest greens claim more victims? Place your bets accordingly.
