FedExCup King Comes Home: Fleetwood Targets Dallah Trophy In Dubai

Tommy Fleetwood is heading back to the desert in January, and the 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic just got a serious upgrade because of it. The FedExCup champion and World Number Four has confirmed he’ll tee it up at Emirates Golf Club from 22–25 January, giving the Dubai showpiece the star power it thrives on.

Fleetwood, now very much part of Dubai’s sporting fabric, will be flanked by familiar European Ryder Cup allies: defending champion Tyrrell Hatton and reigning Masters winner Rory McIlroy. It’s a heavyweight trio for the first Rolex Series event of the 2026 Race to Dubai, and nothing about it feels subtle.

The Englishman’s 2025 season was the definition of earned glory — winning the FedExCup after a nerve-shredding finish at the Tour Championship, then playing a vital role in Europe’s Ryder Cup heroics at Bethpage Black. Add his recent victory at the inaugural DP World India Championship and you’ve got a man arriving with momentum you can hear before you see.

Next January will mark Fleetwood’s 15th straight appearance on the Majlis Course, a run stretching back to the moment he turned professional. This isn’t just a tournament for him; it’s tradition. Now he gets the chance to chase the Dallah Trophy in his adopted hometown with friends and family lining the ropes.

“It’s been an incredible year, winning the FedExCup and being part of that special Ryder Cup victory for Europe,” said Fleetwood. “I always enjoy starting my season in Dubai and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic has become a tournament that I love. I’m looking forward to teeing it up close to home in front of friends and family once again and trying to get my hands on that famous Dallah Trophy.”

Executive Tournament Director Simon Corkill echoed the excitement.
“Tommy’s return is another exciting addition to what is shaping up to be an exceptional field for 2026. His incredible FedEx Cup triumph and continued excellence on both sides of the Atlantic, combined with his integral role in Europe’s Ryder Cup success, make him one of the game’s most compelling competitors. As a Dubai resident, Tommy has a special connection with our tournament and its fans, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back as he chases his first Dallah Trophy.”

A Bigger, Greener, Louder Desert Classic

Hospitality at Hero Dubai Dessert Classic

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic heads into 2026 with its third consecutive GEO certification already secured, reaffirming its position as the Middle East’s benchmark for sustainable golf events.

Next year’s edition ramps up its focus on mental fitness, wellbeing, and cleaner mobility — helped by the metro stop practically sitting on the front doorstep of Emirates Golf Club.

Inside the gates, the event keeps evolving into a full-blown festival. Tournament Town returns as the off-course nerve centre: live music, family zones, food trucks, arts, crafts, and enough activity stations to wear out even the most energetic spectators. It’s fast becoming one of Dubai’s most accessible sporting days out, whether you know your yardages or not.

Good news for fans: Thursday and Friday general admission stays free, with weekend access starting at AED 100 in advance (AED 125 on the day). Under-18s get in free across all four days with a registered adult — a rare win for families looking to keep costs sensible.

Back by popular demand, The Social on Sixteen returns overlooking the iconic par-3. It’s now double in size, offering four hours of free-flowing drinks, premium casual dining, and grandstand views from Friday to Sunday. Tickets start at AED 695.

At the top end sits The Dallah Lounge — the tournament’s most exclusive spot — perched between the 9th and 18th with all-day gourmet hospitality and rooftop views of Dubai’s skyline. Packages begin at AED 2,100, and tend to disappear quickly.
