The International Series Turns Up the Heat: Two Golden Tickets to LIV Golf League Up for Grabs

With just two events left, The International Series is entering its most dramatic stretch yet — and for good reason. LIV Golf has announced that the top two eligible players on The International Series Rankings will earn life-changing spots on the 2026 LIV Golf League roster. In golfing terms, that’s like finding the golden ticket to the big leagues.

The stage is set: the Moutai Singapore Open at Singapore Island Country Club from 6–9 November, followed by the season finale, the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers at Riyadh Golf Club from 19–22 November. Two weeks, two tournaments, and two chances to rewrite careers.

“This is an extremely positive development for our members and firmly cements our partnership with LIV Golf. The extra spot is a phenomenal opportunity for our members to rise to one of the pinnacle platforms in our game and there is no doubt that the top two positions will be fiercely contested over the next two events,” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO of the Asian Tour.

A Proven Pathway to the Big Time

Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, couldn’t have said it better: “We offer a proven, open pathway onto the LIV Golf League and with this season’s route offering not one but two opportunities to progress, there is a real life-changing opportunity for the players to grasp.

“The International Series is committed to presenting the players with opportunity, be it the pathway to LIV Golf or the chance to face up against world-class players. We also provide local elite talent in each of our destinations with the opportunity to compete against proven champions. Recent results — where Asian Tour players have triumphed — is clear evidence of the wealth of talent in the region that is enhanced by the opportunities of The International Series.”

He’s not wrong. This season has been a breakout year for The International Series, which continues to grow in prestige. Two events have already offered direct routes into Major Championships — a sign of just how far this circuit has come.

Majors, Markets, and Milestones

The International Series Macau presented by Wynn handed out three places for the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July. Meanwhile, last week’s Link Hong Kong Open granted its champion entry to both The Masters at Augusta National (April 9–12) and the 154th Open at Royal Birkdale (July 16–19). That’s serious clout.

It’s been a season of firsts. The Series kicked off in Delhi with the debut of International Series India presented by DLF, followed by a triumphant return to Macau, and then Tokyo for the inaugural International Series Japan presented by Moutai. Morocco’s fan-favourite stop returned, joined by fresh tournaments in Jakarta and the Philippines, before Hong Kong and now Singapore took their turns under the spotlight.

The season wraps up with the US$5 million PIF Saudi International — the richest event on The International Series calendar.

Global Names, Local Heroes

Big names bring big headlines. The International Series has seen the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen, Martin Kaymer, Joaquin Niemann, and Talor Gooch tee it up — a lineup that’s transformed the playing field and raised the standard for every challenger on the Asian Tour.

It’s also been a season of inspiring victories. American Ollie Schneiderjans dominated in India, Australia’s Wade Ormsby won in Jakarta, and local favourite Miguel Tabuena delighted Manila. Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent — the 2022 International Series Rankings champion — reinforced his class with a win in Morocco and a near miss in Jakarta after a playoff with Ormsby.

Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin, already a LIV Golf player, stormed to a wire-to-wire victory at the Link Hong Kong Open, securing himself invitations to The Masters and The Open next year.

With Hong Kong in the rearview mirror, the race to the top is tight. Scott Vincent and Miguel Tabuena currently hold the prized top spots, while Ormsby sits close behind in fourth. Japan’s Kazuki Higa and Thailand’s Danthai Boonma lurk in ninth and tenth, ready to pounce.

The history of The International Series shows the stakes. Vincent and Andy Ogletree both climbed to LIV Golf through this very route, while others — including Kieran Vincent, Jinichiro Kozuma, Kalle Samooja, and Lee Chieh-Po — took the alternative LIV Golf Promotions path. The pipeline is proven, and the rewards couldn’t be clearer.

As The International Series heads into Singapore and Saudi Arabia, one thing’s certain: careers will be made, hearts will be broken, and the world will be watching.
