In a move that feels like Fred Couples moonwalking through Soho, J.Lindeberg x Kangol has officially landed. The Scandinavian golf rebels have teamed up with the British streetwear institution to launch a collaboration that smashes together the greens and the gritty streets with the grace of a Sergio stinger and the swagger of a Brooklyn block party.
Announced with more buzz than a Titleist off a cart path, J.Lindeberg x Kangol is less a fashion line and more a state of mind—one that asks, “Why can’t I tee off at noon and hit a rooftop DJ set by four?”
With roots reaching back to the 1920s, Kangol has long been the crown atop counterculture cool. From LL Cool J to Samuel L. Jackson, its iconic kangaroo logo has symbolised style, rebellion, and staying power. Now, with J.Lindeberg—Scandinavia’s own sultan of sharp, technical tailoring—on board, that legacy is taking a bold leap down the fairway.
The standout piece? The New York City Golf Kit. And no, that’s not a euphemism for a subway map and a stress ball. It’s a full-blown kit for the urban golfer—think multi-pocket, showerproof jackets with zip-off sleeves (because weather doesn’t care about your tee time), packable bucket hats, travel caps with zip pockets, and even a golf club harness for those moments when carrying your sticks feels more like a fashion statement than a burden. There’s also reflective silver trim on the golf bags—so you can blind your opponents and the paparazzi.
“In this collaboration, we wanted to create something that speaks to a new generation of athletes and style-conscious individuals,” said Neil Lewty, Chief Creative Officer at J.Lindeberg.
“By combining our performance-driven DNA with Kangol’s streetwear legacy, we’re pushing the boundaries of what sports fashion can be: modern, expressive and designed for movement in every environment.”
Translation? This ain’t your dad’s cable-knit sweater.
The J.Lindeberg x Kangol collection also features hoodies, graphic tees, co-branded football jerseys and, perhaps most cheekily, a redesign of Kangol’s kangaroo now wielding a golf club—finally answering the question: what if Crocodile Dundee had a 7-iron?
“When considering J.Lindeberg and Kangol as collaborators, what jumps out instantly is the disruption these brands create in their space; the punk spirit, driven by the consumer who wears it,” said Paula Calvert, Global Creative Director at Kangol.
“This collaboration was a natural and obvious fit. The brands share the same ethos of boldness, wild patterns, bright pops of colour, and the feeling the consumer embodies when stepping out from the norm wearing Kangol or J.Lindeberg.
What has been a fulfilling journey of two years developing this collaboration for both golf and on the street, the optimistic rebel stands out as a grand force.”
In short: if Ian Poulter designed a capsule wardrobe for New York Fashion Week, it might look something like this.
Set to launch today (August 6th), the J.Lindeberg x Kangol collection will be available online, in select J.Lindeberg stores, and through exclusive retail partners.
Expect a rush—golfers and fashionistas alike will want in before it’s all snapped up faster than a prime Sunday tee time.
So whether you’re chasing birdies or just chasing the sun across the city skyline, this collection’s built for movement, mischief, and looking like you know exactly what you’re doing—even if your swing says otherwise.
