Kipp Popert and Daniel Slabbert Crown Season in Style at G4D Tour Finale in Mallorca

The G4D Tour Finale at Club de Golf Alcanada wrapped up in fitting fashion, with England’s Kipp Popert and South Africa’s Daniel Slabbert delivering commanding victories to close out the season.

The picturesque Alcúdia course was no match for their precision and composure, as Popert captured his second straight Series Finale title and Slabbert powered to a runaway win in the Net division.

Popert, the world’s top-ranked disability golfer, made it back-to-back G4D Tour Finale wins, cruising to a seven-shot triumph that showcased the same grit and skill that have defined his remarkable rise. His closing round of one-under-par 71 sealed a total of one-under for the week—enough to hold off New Zealand’s Lachlan Wood, who finished runner-up.

It marks Popert’s 16th career victory on the G4D Tour, including both individual and team successes, since its inception in 2022. Not bad for a player who spent the first half of this year wondering if he’d ever swing a club again.

“I said before my round I just wanted to finish the tournament under par and it was fairly windy today,” Popert said. “Me and my caddie worked really well together and hit the right spots.

“It was nice to make a couple of birdies coming in. I was very chuffed and I enjoy the pressure. I’m enjoying getting to do this full time at the moment and I’m putting very well at the moment. I struck the putts a lot better today.

“I had surgery at the start of the year so at one point I didn’t know if I would ever play golf again. I’m extremely grateful to be given this opportunity and I want to continue to keep growing this side of the sport as much as possible.

“I’ve won back-to-back now so I’m pleased with that and at two different locations.”

Popert’s return to full form has been nothing short of remarkable. Since coming back from foot surgery, he’s stacked up three G4D Tour victories—at the Amgen Irish Open, the BMW PGA Championship, and now, the Rolex Grand Final in Spain.

In the Net division, Daniel Slabbert produced a clinic of his own, taking a four-shot overnight lead and stretching it into a ten-shot win. His rounds of 76, 75, and 80 gave him a second title of the season, adding to his breakthrough success at the Betfred British Masters in August.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” said Slabbert, a left-leg amputee whose poise and power off the tee turned heads all week. “It’s a great feeling.

“This week there were some great putts that I made and today a couple of putts that amazed me as well. Overall, my iron play and driver was very good this week, and the key thing was probably hitting fairways.

“It’s been a proper feeling of tournament golf this week, so I’m happy to get it done.”

For both players, the G4D Tour Finale was more than a championship—it was proof of what can be achieved through resilience and relentless practice.

Popert continues to set the standard for elite-level adaptive golf, while Slabbert’s performance underscores the global depth of talent in the G4D ranks.

As the sun set on Mallorca and another season came to a close, the message from Alcanada was unmistakable: the G4D Tour isn’t just growing—it’s thriving.

And with players like Popert and Slabbert leading the charge, the sport’s inclusive future looks brighter than ever.
