Kipp Popert Makes It Four in a Row at Wentworth with Dominant G4D Tour Win

Kipp Popert has turned Wentworth Club into his personal playground. The Englishman, the world’s top-ranked golfer with a disability, stormed to an eight-shot victory at the G4D Tour @ BMW PGA Championship, sealing his fourth consecutive title at the iconic venue.

After torching the course with an opening seven-under 66, Popert carried a seven-shot lead into Tuesday’s finale. A closing 71 was more than enough to slam the door shut, finishing nine under for the week and reminding everyone why he’s the undisputed benchmark of the G4D Tour.

“It was a really slow start to the year with the operation,” Popert said. “People who have been out for whatever reason understand what it is like to come back and you just appreciate everything a lot more.

It was my 12th operation so I have had practice with that. I am just loving being able to do what I love again. I am clearly playing well, so I am very pleased.”

A Career of Resilience and Triumph

Popert, who has cerebral palsy, now owns 15 G4D Tour titles—individual and team—since the circuit’s launch in 2022. This latest win comes hot on the heels of his victory at the Amgen Irish Open, a sign that after foot surgery sidelined him for half the season, he’s back to dismantling leaderboards like nothing ever happened.

The G4D Tour was designed to showcase elite golfers with disabilities on the world stage. In just three years, Popert has become its dominant force—part Seve, part surgeon, slicing up courses with precision and an unshakable grin.

The Chasing Pack

While Popert cruised, there were still fireworks behind him. Australian Lachlan Wood was the only other player in the ten-strong mixed field to break par over the two days, finishing runner-up at one under thanks to a final-round 72 that included an eagle and three birdies.

Spain’s Juan Postigo Arce, who limped out of day one with an 80, rebounded in style with a 72 to snatch solo third at six over. Meanwhile, Issa Nlareb—whose remarkable story includes surviving bacterial meningitis that cost him both legs and most of the fingers on his right hand—finished sixth after back-to-back 78s.

What’s Next

The G4D Tour rolls on next week at the FedEx Open de France at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche, before the season culminates in Mallorca with the G4D Tour @ Rolex Grand Final. Popert, already a lock for the finale, will arrive with his eyes set on yet another trophy to cram onto an already groaning shelf.

For now, though, Kipp Popert leaves Wentworth with a fourth straight crown, a testament to resilience, rhythm, and a golf swing that keeps proving limits are for everyone else.
