By the time March 2026 rolls around, LIV Golf Hong Kong won’t just be another stop on the global circus—it’ll be the headline act.
For the first time in league history, a tournament has landed a title sponsor, and it’s a big one: HSBC. That means when the league’s 54 stars touch down at Hong Kong Golf Club from 6–8 March, they won’t just be playing for glory—they’ll be teeing it up under a banner that carries more financial clout than most sovereign nations.
It’s the third time the breakaway league has pitched its tents on Fanling’s historic fairways, but this year, the “HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong” tag adds a bit of gravitas.

As LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil put it, “Hong Kong welcomed LIV Golf with extraordinary enthusiasm from the very beginning, and we are proud to return to this special city and course to deliver another unforgettable experience and week for fans, players, and partners.
Partnering with HSBC elevates this marquee event to new levels and highlights our shared values of innovation, accessibility, and global impact.”
Fireballs, fireworks, and familiar faces
If the last two editions are anything to go by, you’ll want your seat early. In 2024, Abraham Ancer lit the fuse with a win. In 2025, Sergio Garcia slammed the door shut, taking both the individual crown and the team title for his Fireballs GC. Back-to-back victories at Fanling—safe to say the Fireballs have made themselves right at home.
Garcia will be back in 2026 to defend his turf, along with an A-list cast: Jon Rahm (Legion XIII), Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC), Joaquin Niemann (Torque GC), Cam Smith (Ripper GC), and Phil Mickelson (HyFlyers GC). In other words, Hong Kong’s galleries won’t be starved of firepower.
Hong Kong Golf Club captain Andy Kwok didn’t hide his pride: “The first two editions (2024 and 2025) of LIV Golf Hong Kong, which were awarded with ‘M’ Mark status, were incredibly successful with record numbers of fans travelling to the city from the Greater Bay Area and far beyond. We look forward to welcoming back the world’s best players for first-class golf and entertainment.”
He went further, pointing to the club’s roots: “As the oldest golf club in China, we are delighted to be playing a role in bringing LIV Golf and the excitement that means to the region, developing the game and putting Hong Kong firmly on the global sporting map.
But not only that. LIV Golf’s community-focused endeavours – their commitment to giving back to society, to make a difference at every venue they visit – is just as important and something we are thrilled to work together on. We have agreed on a longer-term partnership with LIV Golf League to host the event for at least two years in Hong Kong in 2026 and 2027.”
HSBC doubles down
For HSBC, this isn’t just about sticking its name on a leaderboard. Barry O’Byrne, HSBC’s CEO of International Wealth and Premier Banking, summed it up: “We are thrilled to be the title sponsor of this ground-breaking tournament, which is rapidly building a passionate fan base and expanding the sport’s appeal.
For 160 years, HSBC has been connecting Hong Kong to the world, and the world to Hong Kong, and we bring this same philosophy to our sponsorships. The LIV Golf multi-year partnership not only reflects our commitment to advancing Hong Kong’s presence on the global stage but also enables us to create exclusive experiences for our clients.”
A festival, not just a golf tournament
Anyone who’s been to a LIV event knows it’s less stuffy four-balls and more music festival with wedges. The HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 edition promises the full package: live music, fan villages, interactive experiences, and enough food and entertainment to make even non-golfers forget they’re watching millionaires in polo shirts.
The waitlist is already open for grounds passes and hospitality packages at LIVGolf.com, with a special presale for HSBC customers on the horizon. Coverage will be beamed across Asia on AXN Sports for those who can’t make the trip.
And while Hong Kong takes centre stage in March, the city is in good company. Other confirmed stops on the 2026 LIV Golf schedule include Riyadh, Adelaide, Singapore, South Africa, Mexico City, Virginia, Andalucia, Louisiana, the United Kingdom, and Indianapolis.
The bigger picture
LIV Golf has always made noise, but the league’s continued presence in Asia—with HSBC’s backing—is a sign it’s digging in for the long haul. Hong Kong Golf Club’s Fanling course, with its history and atmosphere, is as good a canvas as any for this high-octane brand of golf.
And as Crushers GC captain Bryson DeChambeau would no doubt tell you, when LIV Golf rolls into town, the only thing louder than the music is the sound of a 190mph drive ripping through the Hong Kong air.
For now, the countdown begins. LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 is set to be a showcase of golf’s new world order—less hushed whispers, more rock concert. And with HSBC in the mix, it looks like the party’s just getting started.
