There is plenty riding on this week’s Aramco China Championship in Shenzhen, and the home players have every intention of making life difficult for the visiting stars.

From 5–8 November, Mission Hills Resort’s World Cup Course will host the fifth and final tournament of the 2026 PIF Global Series. Major champion Danielle Kang leads the international contingent, but defending champion Ruixin Liu and an accomplished group of Chinese players will be hoping to keep the trophy on home soil.

With $2 million in prize money, Ladies European Tour Order of Merit points and world ranking positions at stake, there is rather more to play for than the final piece of silverware in the series.

Danielle Kang Heads the International Challenge

The Aramco China Championship brings together 108 competitors for four rounds of stroke play on Mission Hills’ World Cup Course.

Co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) and China Ladies Professional Golf Tour (CLPG Tour), the tournament follows previous PIF Global Series stops in Riyadh, Las Vegas, London and Seoul.

Kang provides one of the leading international attractions, with Olivia Cowan, Marianne Skarpnord and Dutch golfer Anne van Dam also among the names heading to Shenzhen.

For the LET players, the timing adds another layer of importance. With the tour’s season-ending event in Spain scheduled for December, the opportunity to collect Order of Merit points could prove significant.

CLPG Tour competitors, meanwhile, have their own season rankings to consider, alongside the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings points available during the championship.

The visitors will find no shortage of competition from the home contingent.

Ruixin Liu returns as defending champion, having claimed the Aramco China Championship title in 2025. She will be joined by several players who have already established themselves on the Chinese professional circuit.

Ren Yijia arrives with six CLPG Tour victories to her name, while four-time winner Zeng Liqi is another contender with considerable domestic experience. Zeng is also expected to return to the LPGA Tour in 2027.

Sui Xiang and amateur Liu Yujie add further depth to the Chinese challenge, alongside Li Shuying, who became the first player from mainland China to win on the Korean LPGA Tour.

It is an interesting collection of experience and emerging talent. For the younger Chinese players in particular, competing alongside established international professionals offers an opportunity to test their games in a significant tournament without travelling overseas.

And with the defending champion among their ranks, the local players have already demonstrated that they can win on this stage.

Mission Hills Returns to the International Spotlight

The championship’s return to Shenzhen continues Mission Hills Resort’s established relationship with the CLPG Tour.

The World Cup Course provides the setting for the four-day competition, bringing another international women’s golf tournament to a venue with longstanding connections to the professional game in China.

For Golf Saudi, which organises the PIF Global Series, the tournament also forms part of its wider investment in women’s golf and its efforts to develop the sport internationally.

The organisation reports that more than 15,000 people in Saudi Arabia have registered for golf lessons, with a further 4,000 on waiting lists. More than a third of those waiting are women.

Golf Saudi says it aims to increase the Kingdom’s active golfing population from approximately 4,500 to more than 30,000 over the next five years, supported by expanded coaching and academy programmes.

Those ambitions provide some context for the investment behind the series, although the more immediate measure of its sporting success will be the competition on the course.

How to Follow the 2026 Aramco China Championship

The tournament runs from Thursday 5 November to Sunday 8 November, with four rounds of individual stroke play determining the champion.

Organisers say television and streaming coverage will reach more than 100 territories, while live scoring and tournament updates will be available through official PIF Global Series channels.

Tickets are also available for spectators attending Mission Hills Resort.

After four previous stops across three continents, the 2026 series now reaches its final destination. Kang and the international field bring considerable pedigree, but Liu and her fellow Chinese competitors have every reason to believe they can deliver another home victory.

The first four events have brought the series to Shenzhen. The next four rounds will decide who gets the final word.
