Vintage Out, MIM In: COBRA’s Next Putter Family Lands

COBRA Golf® has rolled out an all-new MIM Putter Family, using Metal Injection Molding (MIM) to chase tighter tolerances, sharper shaping and more consistent head-to-head builds across the range.

In short: COBRA is aiming for a putter lineup that looks and performs like it was made from the same blueprint every single time—because putters are too temperamental for “close enough.”

Designed to replace Cobra’s Vintage putter family, the new MIM lineup is constructed entirely using metal injection molding, a manufacturing process that combines the consistency of forging with the efficiency of traditional casting. The benefit is the ability to produce more complex shapes with dramatically tighter tolerances, delivering refined detailing and a more uniform build across every model.

A major feature across the COBRA MIM family is the next-generation Pebax™ face insert. It’s now firmer and more durable, built to improve responsiveness and long-term performance.

Made from a lightweight thermoplastic elastomer, the Pebax insert also helps redistribute mass away from the face to increase moment of inertia (MOI). That should translate to greater stability and forgiveness on off-center strikes—miss it a fraction, and the putter is designed to stay calmer than you do.

COBRA has also paired the lineup with LA GOLF’s Descending Loft Technology (DLT), aimed at improving launch and roll. With lofts that progress from 4°, 3°, 2°, to 1°, DLT is designed to counter common tendencies at impact—whether a golfer adds loft trying to “lift” the ball, or de-lofts it with forward press and hands. The objective: a more consistent launch and a smoother end-over-end roll.

“The new Pebax insert was a major focus for us with this lineup,” said Chad DeHart, Senior Product Line Manager at Cobra Golf. “By improving the insert makeup, we were able to make it more durable, deliver a more responsive feel while also freeing up mass to increase MOI and forgiveness.

When you pair that with LA GOLF’s Descending Loft Technology, golfers get a consistent launch and a noticeably smoother, end-over-end roll regardless of whether they tend to add or take away loft at impact.”

The COBRA MIM Putters will retail for $279 and will be available at retail starting March 13, 2026. For more information or to purchase, visit www.cobragolf.com.
