You might’ve come to LIV Golf Dallas for the booming drives and flashy leaderboards, but what unfolded off the fairways at Maridoe Golf Club was arguably the real headline act.
As the sun beat down on Carrollton from June 27–29, LIV Golf and energy juggernaut Aramco didn’t just stage another world-class event—they rewrote the playbook on what it means to show up for a community.
In the lead-up to the tournament, the pair hosted a spirited and refreshingly earnest day for 100 Dallas-area students and educators. Dubbed “Potential, Unleashed”—and for once, that wasn’t just a marketing platitude—it delivered a full-throttle experience in mentorship, education, and genuine goodwill.

“You should’ve seen the kids,” one spectator might’ve said, watching HyFlyers GC’s Andy Ogletree and Brendan Steele work the practice green with young hopefuls. It was part clinic, part carnival, all heart. Not just a photo op—though yes, there were plenty of those—but a hands-on masterclass that introduced golf not as a distant pastime, but a game they could own.
Of course, any real impact has to outlive the tent poles and turf mats. So LIV Golf and Aramco made sure it would.
Through equipment donations to Dallas ISD resource centres, they’re putting clubs in kids’ hands year-round, not just during a weekend in June.
“The opportunity for our students and educators to participate in the LIV Golf Dallas event was truly inspiring,” said Coach Lakenyon Russ of Douglas Elementary.
“From hands-on golf instruction to engaging learning stations and meaningful recognition of our teachers, this initiative reflects a powerful commitment to our community. We’re grateful to LIV Golf and Aramco for investing in the future of Dallas and creating memories that will last a lifetime.”
No surprise then, that the day’s action extended beyond the tee box. Students and educators rotated through “LIV to Learn” stations—classroom-adjacent, sure, but actually fun.
Problem solving, decision-making, even emotional regulation got the LIV Golf gloss. Meanwhile, the Nutrition Zone offered up balanced meals and take-home packs filled with family-friendly recipes. Forget vending machine granola bars—this was whole-food sustenance with a purpose.
And in a nod to the people who really deserve their names on a leaderboard, 300 Dallas ISD teachers were gifted tournament tickets each day, with transport and on-site recognition baked into the deal. It’s a classy gesture, one that treated educators like VIPs instead of afterthoughts.
That wasn’t the end of it. LIV Golf and Aramco pledged up to $250,000 in support of three powerful local programs: the I AM a Golfer Foundation, Together We Thrive, and a third yet-to-be-named initiative—all targeting youth mentorship, trauma-informed life coaching, and educational access. Combined, these investments are set to reach more than 4,000 students. That’s not a small ripple—that’s a current.
Call it what you want—sportswashing, storytelling, strategy—but the results in Dallas were tangible. LIV Golf Dallas wasn’t just another page in the tour’s schedule. It was proof that LIV’s bold new model can balance competition with conscience, swagger with substance.
In a game often judged by scorecards and sponsorships, this was a welcome reminder: sometimes, the real victories happen away from the leaderboard.
