Watching the Ryder Cup is one thing. Playing some of Ireland’s finest golf courses before settling in to watch Europe and the United States go head-to-head is quite another.

And if you’re planning to mark the competition’s 100th anniversary in 2027, you might as well make a proper trip of it. Although, with packages starting north of £12,500 per person, this isn’t exactly a weekend away with a cheeky round squeezed in.

The Experience Golf, an Official Tour Operator for the 2027 Ryder Cup, has introduced three itineraries combining tournament admission at Adare Manor in County Limerick with golf across Dublin, Northern Ireland and Ireland’s southwest.

Each takes a slightly different approach, offering between eight and nine nights away, a selection of established courses and varying amounts of time at the Ryder Cup itself.

Three Ways to Experience the 2027 Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup takes place from 17–19 September 2027, giving golf travellers an opportunity to build a longer Irish golfing holiday around the event.

The three packages offer different combinations of courses, accommodation and tournament access. And given the prices involved, choosing the right itinerary matters rather more than deciding whether to pack an extra dozen balls.

Dublin: Four Rounds and Two Days at the Ryder Cup

12–20 September 2027 | Eight nights | From £12,730 per person

The Dublin itinerary offers four rounds of golf alongside two days’ admission to the Ryder Cup.

Royal Dublin and Portmarnock provide two of the headline stops, with further rounds at Brittas Bay, formerly the European Club, and Killarney Golf & Fishing Club’s Killeen Course.

It’s an interesting combination, particularly as the itinerary stretches beyond Dublin to include golf in County Kerry.

For golfers who want to spend a substantial part of their holiday playing rather than watching, this is the package with the greatest number of rounds explicitly listed.

Northern Ireland: Royal Portrush and Four Days at Adare Manor

Dunluce

11–20 September 2027 | Nine nights | From £12,558 per person

The Northern Ireland itinerary brings together golf on the Causeway Coast with four days of Ryder Cup admission.

Royal Portrush is the obvious attraction, with rounds listed on both its Dunluce and Valley courses. Portstewart also features, giving visitors another opportunity to experience Northern Ireland’s links golf before travelling south for the Ryder Cup.

At nine nights, this is the longest of the three packages. Interestingly, it also carries the lowest advertised starting price while including the most days of tournament admission.

That makes it particularly worth examining for golfers whose priority is spending more time at Adare Manor, although the precise admission days and ticket arrangements are worth confirming before making comparisons.

Southwest Ireland: Tralee, Dooks and Dingle

For those who would rather concentrate their playing time in Ireland’s southwest, the third itinerary features three rounds at Dooks Golf Club, Dingle Golf Links and Tralee Golf Club.

Tralee comes with a particularly memorable golfing association. Arnold Palmer, who designed its opening nine holes, is credited with the observation:

“I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine.”

It’s a line that has done the rounds in golfing circles, although the scenery at Tralee has always been capable of making its own introduction.

This package also includes three days’ admission to the Ryder Cup, providing a balance between time on the course and watching the competition unfold at Adare Manor.

What’s Included in the Ryder Cup Packages?

The Experience Golf says all three itineraries include luxury accommodation, daily breakfast, clubhouse lunches on golf days and selected group dinners.

Transfers to the golf courses and Ryder Cup are included, alongside sightseeing experiences and dedicated assistance from the operator’s team.

Richard Payne, Director of Commercial Strategy and Golf at Lyvera Group, explained the thinking behind the trips:

“The Ryder Cup is one of the most sought-after experiences in world golf, and we wanted to create packages that allow guests to make the most of their time in Ireland and beyond.”

The company specialises in golf travel across the UK and Ireland and is also the longest-standing authorised provider of Old Course tee times through the St Andrews Links Trust.

Its new Ryder Cup itineraries bring that golf travel experience together with official tournament access, removing some of the organisational work involved in arranging a multi-course trip around a major sporting event.

What Should Golfers Consider Before Booking?

At these prices, the detail matters.

The Northern Ireland package offers four days of Ryder Cup admission, compared with three for the southwest itinerary and two for Dublin. With the competitive matches taking place across 17–19 September, prospective travellers should establish exactly which days their tickets cover.

It’s also worth confirming the accommodation arrangements, room occupancy assumptions, ticket categories, travel inclusions and any additional costs before comparing the packages on price alone.

The courses themselves will be another deciding factor. Someone determined to play both Royal Portrush layouts will naturally lean towards Northern Ireland, while the Dublin itinerary offers an extra round and a broader geographical mix. Southwest Ireland, meanwhile, concentrates on three established golfing destinations with three days at the Ryder Cup.

There’s no single obvious winner. Much depends on whether the priority is the tournament, the golf or striking a balance between the two.

A Centenary Worth Travelling For

The 2027 Ryder Cup marks 100 years since the inaugural contest at Worcester Country Club in Massachusetts in 1927.

This time, the setting is Adare Manor, with Europe and the United States meeting in County Limerick from 17–19 September.

For golfers considering a trip to Ireland, the centenary provides a compelling reason to make the journey. The opportunity to play Royal Portrush, Portmarnock or Tralee along the way adds another dimension.

Of course, spending five figures on a golfing holiday requires rather more consideration than the usual debate over whether to take the driver out of the bag.

But for anyone determined to combine a Ryder Cup centenary with some memorable golf of their own, these packages provide three distinctly different ways to do it.
