New Scotty Cameron OC Models Target Square-to-Path Stability Without Sacrificing Feel

Scotty Cameron has done it again. The master craftsman behind golf’s most coveted flatsticks has launched his latest innovation – the new Scotty Cameron OC (Onset Center) putters – and they’re designed to give golfers a more stable, square-to-path stroke without sacrificing the buttery feel that defines every Cameron creation.

Two new models, the Phantom 11R OC and Studio Style Fastback OC, mark the debut of this low-torque setup across both of Cameron’s flagship families. It’s a bold move that blends tour validation with engineering precision — something only Scotty Cameron could pull off with such understated confidence.

A New Take on Torque Control

At the heart of the OC concept is the “Onset Center” shaft position — set just back from the leading edge and perfectly aligned with the putter head’s centre of gravity. The result? A naturally square delivery that resists twisting through impact, giving players a cleaner, more connected roll.

“In the last few years, we’ve seen a growing number of golfers who want to minimise the feel of face rotation in the stroke via putter setup,” said Austie Rollinson, Scotty Cameron’s Senior Director of Putter R&D. “And as a designer, what excites me most about OC is that it gives golfers options. We now have an entirely new configuration for golfers who want to feel a square, straight-back-and-through path.”

That kind of precision doesn’t come by accident. Every design detail — from shaft lean to face milling — has been engineered to reduce torque while keeping the classic Scotty Cameron responsiveness intact.

Feel Without Compromise

“When we went to work on low-torque designs, as with all products, we started with tour player feedback,” Rollinson added. “It became clear that low-torque putters often come at the cost of feel, so we designed our OC models to minimise face rotation while maintaining responsiveness and feedback.”

And they’ve nailed it. The Phantom 11R OC features a full chain-link milled face for crisp, balanced feedback, while the Studio Style Fastback OC comes with a Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) insert that softens sound without muting sensation. Both feature one degree of shaft lean — a subtle detail that keeps the hands neutral and eyes aligned perfectly over the ball.

Under the hood, there’s a touch more heft too. Each OC model carries a 15-gram heavier head weight paired with a custom black shaft and the signature Matador Mid grip. It’s a setup that feels deliberate, powerful, and impossibly smooth through the stroke.

The Models: Phantom 11R OC and Studio Style Fastback OC

The Phantom 11R OC builds on the success of the tour-proven Phantom 11 platform. With its rounded profile, single alignment line, and full-face milling, it delivers both visual confidence and roll consistency. The model is also available in left-handed configuration — a nod to inclusivity that many southpaws will appreciate.

Meanwhile, the Studio Style Fastback OC draws inspiration from classic Cameron designs. Its 303 stainless steel body and 6061 aircraft aluminium sole are complemented by the Studio Carbon Steel insert, producing that unmistakable Scotty Cameron click at impact. A single sight line keeps alignment simple and focused — no distractions, no gimmicks.

Both models come in 33″, 34″, and 35″ lengths, with 3.5° loft and 70° lie angle.

Tour-Proven Success

Tour validation came fast. Rising Australian star Elvis Smylie switched to the Phantom 11R OC in October last year — and promptly won back-to-back events, including the BMW Australian PGA Championship on the DP World Tour.

Smylie credits his new putter for the turnaround: “My favourite club in the bag is my putter… I [had] been using a blade for a very long time. So going from a blade putter back to a mallet putter is something a little bit different, but it’s got a little centre shaft as well… It helps sit your hands in a really nice position.

I’ve been using this model since last October and I’ve managed to get my first professional win with it. And this has definitely been a reason why I got over the line, so I can’t see myself changing anytime soon.”

Smylie now sits inside the top 20 of the Race to Dubai standings, eyeing a PGA Tour card — with a Scotty Cameron firmly in hand.

Designed for the Modern Golfer

Scotty Cameron OC putters aren’t “zero torque” — because that’s a myth. What they are is low torque, reducing face rotation to the absolute minimum while preserving that critical feel and feedback. They’re ideal for golfers who prefer a straight-back-and-through motion and a stable, controlled release.

Every part of the OC experience — from the heavier head to the chain-link milling — has been tailored for performance that feels both grounded and effortless.

Availability

The new Scotty Cameron OC putters will hit pro shops and golf retailers worldwide on Friday, November 14, with a suggested retail price of £499.

For players who believe precision starts on the greens, the OC lineup could be the edge they’ve been waiting for. After all, when Scotty Cameron releases something new, the golf world listens — and this time, it’s all about control, balance, and that unmistakable Cameron feel.
