TGL Season 2: Team-by-Team Preview, Power Rankings and Finals Picks

Tomorrow’s Golf League kicks off Season 2 in less than a month, and fans are excited to see their favourite PGA Tour stars back in action after a suspenseful Ryder Cup finale that pitted several of the TGL stars against each other at Bethpage Black.

2025 TGL Champions Atlanta Drive will face off against runner-up New York Golf Club a few days after Christmas. The season will feature each team playing five times in the regular season until March 3, 2026 and will be concluded through a playoff system similar to Season 1.

A champion will be crowned approximately one month before the 2026 Masters.

With just five matches to play and four playoff spots up for grabs, making an impression early is of the utmost importance. Wins at the beginning of the season are just as important as wins at the end.

We take a look at how all six teams match up before the 2026 season and who is likely to make it to the TGL Season 2 finals and take home the second championship in the ultra-exciting tech-infused golf league.

2025 Review: Make no mistake, Jupiter Links was the premier attraction of TGL’s inaugural season thanks to league co-founder Tiger Woods. If you tuned into see what TGL was all about last season there was a 99% chance you tuned into to see Tiger play, everything else was merely supplemental. Jupiter Links’ lone win came over the winless Boston Common Golf. Ironically, co-founders Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s teams were the two squads to miss Season 1’s playoffs.

2026 Outlook: A hodgepodge of golfers including the fan favourite, but snakebitten Max Homa, Jupiter Links relied heavily on the star power of Woods for viewership, opposed to on-the-course results, and will likely do so again. Tom Kim is an exciting up-and-coming golfer who has worlds of potential to add to his showmanship. Expect Kim to be Jupiter’s best player going into this season.

Atlanta Drive GC

2025 Record: 4 – 1 – 0

Team Roster - Atlanta Drive GC - Season 1

Professional Tournaments Won in 2025 Outside TGL: 1; Justin Thomas (1)

2025 Review: Despite pedestrian statistics during the regular season, Atlanta Drive took the league on a wild ride through the playoffs to capture the league’s first championship. Billy Horschel’s clutch putt to seal the championship against New York is without a doubt the highlight shot from Season 1 and will be part of league lore throughout it’s existence.

2026 Outlook: Everything suggests that Atlanta caught lightning in a bottle in 2025 and that reproducing the same results with this roster would be a miracle. Billy Horschel was statistically the best member of Atlanta Drive last season and as previously mentioned, was a huge reason that Atlanta took home the trophy. Horschel spent the majority of 2025 on the sidelines recovering from injury and his form won’t be known until the start of Atlanta’s opening match against New York Sunday December 28, 2025.

Most Anticipated Match of 2026: NY-ATL December 28th – Finals Rematch

New York Golf Club

2025 Record: 4 – 1 – 0

Team Roster - New York Golf Club - Season 1

Professional Tournaments Won in 2025 Outside TGL: 2; Cam Young (1), Matt Fitzpatrick (1)

2025 Review: The 2025 runner-ups were a surprise success from key individual performances from Cameron Young and Rickie Fowler. The dynamic duo finished the season T2 in points scored with 19 apiece, second only to league leader Wyndham Clark. Although New York fell short of their ultimate goal, Rickie Fowler showed that he still had plenty of gas left in the tank despite so-so results in PGA Tour events.

2026 Outlook: Xander Schauffele was golf’s hottest player in 2024 but cooled off significantly in early 2025. Luckily, Schauffele regained his form as the season went on and the two-time majors winner looks like his old self again. Matt Fitzpatrick also rebounded in a big way including winning the DP World Tour’s championship. Nobody on this roster causes reason for concern in 2026.

Most Anticipated Match of 2026: NY-ATL December 28th – Finals Rematch

2026 Projected Record: 2 – 3 – 0

Los Angeles Golf Club

2025 Record: 4 – 0 – 1

Team Roster - Los Angeles Golf Club - Season 1

Professional Tournaments Won in 2025 Outside TGL: 2; Tommy Fleetwood (1), Justin Rose (1)

2025 Review: Los Angeles narrowly lost out on a trip to the finals after succumbing to a very good New York squad. Their 2025 regular season’s only blemish was an overtime loss to eventual league champions Atlanta. Despite Colin Morikawa’s play being so-so on the PGA Tour and in major championships, Morikawa was one of the best scorers in the league’s first season.

2026 Outlook: Tommy Fleetwood wasn’t the best golfer in 2025 but he finished the season as the hottest. Capturing his first ever PGA Tour victory sandwiched in-between deep runs on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour with an incredibly successful Ryder Cup showing as well. Fleetwood will be a huge favourite to win multiple times in 2026 and has the ability to carry Los Angeles as far as they can go. Sahith Theegala gives us pause on naming LA the best team in the league as he spent most of 2025 rehabbing a previous injury. His form a far cry from what it was in 2024 and before, we don’t know what version of Theegala TGL will give us just yet.

Most Anticipated Match of 2026: BAY-LA February 9th – Battle of California

2026 Projected Record: 3 – 2 – 0

Boston Common Golf

2025 Record: 0 – 4 – 1

Team Roster - Boston Common Golf - Season 1

Professional Tournaments Won in 2025 Outside TGL: 7; McIlroy (4), Bradley (1), Matsuyama (2)

2025 Review: The only winless team from TGL’s inaugural season, Boston Common Golf has nowhere to go but up. Led by Rory McIlroy whose 2025 season was the stuff of legends, Boston was not able to capture the same magic inside the arena as they were the golf course.

2026 Outlook: McIlroy may be golf’s hottest name right now outside of Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood, but it remains to be seen if that star power will translate to wins in Season 2. Hideki Matsuyama cooled off significantly after his early 2025 PGA Tour victory in Hawaii and Adam Scott’s best days are in the rear-view mirror. The duo was among the last in the league (though better than most of Jupiter Links’ roster) in points scored for their teams: Scott T21; 6 Points & Matsuyama T23; 4 Points

Most Anticipated Match of 2026: BOS-LA January 2nd – Boston Seeks First Ever Win

2026 Projected Record: 4 – 0 – 1

The Bay Golf Club

2025 Record: 4 – 1 – 0

Team Roster - The Bay Golf Club - Season 1

Professional Tournaments Won in 2025 Outside TGL: 2; Ludvig Aberg (1) Min Woo Lee (1)

2025 Review: While TGL did not hand out awards for its inaugural season, it’s clear that Wyndham Clark would have been the runaway favourite for regular-season MVP. First in Triples Points Won, Triples Holes Won, Total Points Won and tied for first in Singles Holes Won, Clark is seemingly made for indoor arena golf. The former U.S. Open winner had a deceptively strong finish to the 2025 season after some negative actions and press at Oakmont shrouded his competitive season.

2026 Outlook: The Bay Golf Club just feels like a team built for TGL. Min Woo Lee was the only Bay member who finished outside the Top 10 in total points scored If Min Woo is a team’s least productive member, that means that the rest of the team is very, very good. Their playoff performance against Atlanta Drive (3 – 9) was embarrassing, but unlikely to happen again. We like The Bay Golf Club to go all the way in 2026 and take the trophy for Season 2.
