In a move guaranteed to stir memories and spark singalongs, Razorlight are returning to the spotlight as the headline act for the BMW PGA Championship’s Showstage on Saturday, September 13.
The British indie rock icons will fire up the festival atmosphere after the final putt drops on round three of the Championship at the historic Wentworth Club.
Yes, you read that right—Razorlight, the band that gave us earworms like ‘Golden Touch’ and ‘America’, are back in full swing. Fronted by the unmistakably magnetic Johnny Borrell, the quartet—reunited in 2020 after a ten-year hiatus—are set to electrify Surrey’s West Course crowd, now bolstered by the release of their 2024 comeback album Planet Nowhere.
“The Showstage at the BMW PGA Championship is always a highlight of the week and we are very excited to announce Razorlight as our headline act for the Saturday night,” said Championship Director Darrell O’Hora.
“For nearly a decade, the BMW PGA Championship has been a true Festival of Golf, with a number of fantastic acts playing the stage over the years and we are very much looking forward to seeing what this year’s Championship has in store. With world-class golf, music and entertainment, it really is an event for the whole family.”
Since 2016, the BMW PGA Championship has doubled as a music festival in its own right, drawing not just golf’s elite but chart-topping artists to its leafy grounds.
Razorlight now joins a prestigious playlist of past performers including Kaiser Chiefs, Simple Minds, Rudimental, Groove Armada, and last year’s crowd-puller, Sigala.
The week-long celebration at Wentworth kicks off Tuesday, September 9 with a Practice Day, before the crowd-pleasing Celebrity Pro-Am tees off on Wednesday, September 10.
Expect a who’s who from sport, music, and entertainment rubbing shoulders with pros in what’s become the unofficial social highlight of the tournament.
The main event—golf’s answer to Glastonbury—runs Thursday through Sunday (September 11-14), bringing world-class action on the course and revelry off it.
Whether you’re there for the birdies or the backbeats, this Championship doesn’t disappoint.
Situated less than an hour from central London, Wentworth offers a suite of travel options for punters. BMW Group owners get VIP parking treatment, while all spectators can make use of free shuttle services from Virginia Water Station.
Park & Ride services will run from Broomhall Farm in Sunningdale and Royal Ascot Racecourse—though you’ll want to pre-pay to dodge the on-the-day hike from £10 to £15.
Tickets are vanishing faster than a cold pint on a warm fairway. With Ticket+ and Grandstand passes already sold out for the weekend, and only limited Premium Experience options remaining, now’s the time to act. General Admission for the week is still available, but not for long.
As for Sunday’s mystery headliner? That’s still under wraps. But with Razorlight already locked in, expectations are sky-high—and rightly so.
So dust off your bucket hat, polish your wedges, and brace for a week where music and golf collide in all the right ways. Razorlight are back, and Wentworth is ready to rock.
