England Golf has pulled back the curtain on this year’s finalists for the 2026 England Golf Awards, and if you listen closely you can already hear the clink of cutlery, the polite applause, and the unmistakable sound of proud golf people trying not to look proud.
The black-tie knees-up, sponsored by FootJoy, lands at Manchester Deansgate on Tuesday 3 March, with 13 awards up for grabs for the players, clubs, facilities and counties who’ve made the last 12 months look like a highlight reel.
And it’s not just a pat on the back for the usual suspects. This is the full spread: the volunteers who turn up when it’s raining sideways, the coaches who keep juniors coming back, the clubs that feel like communities, and the counties that keep the whole show moving when nobody’s watching.
England Golf CEO Jeremy Tomlinson said: “The England Golf Awards are always very special occasions where we recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of the most brilliant people who drive the success of our game.
“Everyone nominated should take great pride in how they continue to make a positive difference to this great sport we all love. “Likewise, The Manchester Deansgate Hotel is a great venue, so we know we are in for another fantastic night to celebrate our amazing finalists and winners enjoying a night to cherish.”
What the England Golf Awards celebrate
There are 13 awards presented on the evening, recognising excellence across the game—on the course, behind the scenes, and in the places where golf lives day-to-day.
In total, 11 categories were open to public nominations before being sifted and sharpened by an expert panel of 50 judges. That judging group comprised England Golf staff alongside key industry and media colleagues—so, in other words, people who know their stuff and aren’t afraid to use a red pen.
How the finalists were chosen
The process is designed to reflect the breadth of the sport, not just who shot the lowest number last weekend. Public nominations fed into the shortlisting, then the panel selected the finalists—rewarding sustained effort, impact, and results across the past year.
England Golf has confirmed that the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Young Volunteer of the Year winner, and the Hall of Fame inductees will be announced on the night—because every good golf event needs a bit of late drama, ideally without a rules official getting involved.
